[Rambles] Haggardity

If you haven’t noticed, I love to post lyrics of songs that I like, including its music video, a cover of a YouTube artist, or sometimes, my own cover (which sucks! XD).

Some could have guessed that I made those not-so-good covers for a special someone and I can’t deny that fact. Yes, I did it for a special someone.

The past few weeks are really tough for me, not to mention the “haggard-ity” or “haggard-ness” of my commitments to my organizations and to my work. It’s been tough for me to make some decisions and actions, and to really stand with that. I can say that I’ve learned from my past mistakes. But I think it’s much tougher now.

Anyway, I really would like to thank some of my friends since elementary for supporting though you really don’t know what’s happening. I would like to thank you, sir, for listening even I just ramble things sometimes, and thanks for all the encouragements. I really appreciate it. Lastly, I would like to thank you, ^_^, for being such a cheerful person, for encouraging me to do things, for giving advices, for everything. ^_^

The first time I’ve heard this song is when my Ate and I are watching the film ‘Across the Universe’. TV Carpio sang this part, and at first I thought that she’s singing it for the boy. Then, I realized that she’s singing it for the girl because she’s a lesbian. Anyway, the song fits for people who are proposing to someone or are keeping their feelings to themselves.

Lyrics:
Yeah, I’ll tell you something.
I think you’ll understand.
When I say that something,
I want to hold your hand.

I wanna hold your hand.
I wanna hold your hand.

Oh, please say to me,
You’ll let me be your man.
And please say to me,
You’ll let me hold your hand.

[Rants? Musix?] The Remedy

I was supposed to put “Well,….” as the opening part of this post but I realized that I it’s a bit usual for me to use that word, and it’s now usual for me to keep erasing what I’ve typed then typing new wordings and stuff, spending almost five minutes just for a sentence! Gahd! That might be the reason why I haven’t finished that post that I started last May 13.

Maybe that’s just for posts like this, where random thoughts just come and go (what the heck??). Anyway, I apologize for any grammatical error, and if ever you’ve read the About part of this blog, then you might have known that this blogging thing is also to enhance whatever knowledge I have with the English language. So just comment it out. It’s better to receive your-english-is-so-so-wrong comments than those hey-im-obviously-a-spam comments, but hey, I’m also doing my best to check my own stuff.

I know I haven’t finished my post about my Romblon vacation, the Splash Island trip, the HB summer swimming, the DilNet application and many more, but I just need to post this short entry.

Last election, I supported Dick Gordon to be our country’s president. And when I said supported, I mean, like giving away flyers to motorists, holding a sign board containing Gordon’s achievements, and shouting at the streets to vote for him. Thanks to my friend, John Michael Manalo.

In my opinion, he’s a leader-in-the-making. He handled the temporary alumni association of our batch. He was once a president of the FEU boosters. He’s a very sociable(?) person. And most of his plans for the barkada always come in to work.

Collide by Howie Day

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You’re barely waking
And I’m tangled up in you
Yeah

I’m open, you’re closed
Where I follow, you’ll go
I worry I won’t see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

Philippine Election 2010

Comments off

May 10, 2010 – First Automated National Election. My FIRST voting experience.

We went to the school where our precinct is at around ten in the morning just to be greeted by the long unorganized lines and of course, the burning heat. Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) said that the temperature will be higher than what we felt the day before.

Luckily, we already know our clustered precinct (CP) numbers, at least the information that we got for my CP is right. For a little background, the Commission on Elections (ComElec) grouped around five to seven precincts into a CP. So if we have around 300 registered voters in a precinct, then there will be 1500 voters in a single CP. I believe that they’ve done this because of the lack of machines, and this scheme is the reason why some of the voters chose to go home and not to vote.

Valentine
by Kina Grannis

Love, it’s a special day
We should celebrate and appreciate
That you and me found something pretty neat
And I know some say this day is arbitrary

But it’s a good excuse to put our love to use
Baby, I know what to do
Baby, I will love you
I’ll love you, I’ll love you

Love, I don’t need those things
I don’t need no ring
I don’t need anything
But you with me
‘Cause in your company
I feel happy, oh so happy and complete

Hot Summer Goals

Comments off

I’ve read smile, este ivy’s most recent blog post and decided to copy her and write my summer agenda here. I have already some summer goals since the Holy Week, and I’ll put it here for documentation purposes also. I said to myself around two months ago that I might have a productive summer if ever I’ve got accepted in IRC. But since I was rejected, I need to make it productive myself. So what are my plans? Here’s the list:

1. Develop a software. I’m thinking of making a mobile phone application that can control a computer via bluetooth. For this to work, I need to make two applications, one for the mobile phone and the other for the computer. I’ve decided to write the computer application in C, while the mobile application will be written in Java. I am already studying Java since last week and I’m having some difficulties with objective programming. Maybe I already need to implement some codes. I know that I may not finish it this summer (especially the GUI) but at least I want to make it work.

2. Study how PHP frameworks work. Since I’ve volunteered to be a part of Kasapi, another software brought to you by UnPLUG, I need to learn how to code efficiently using the frameworks. I’ve reviewed my code for the database of our alumni association, and I found it a bit messy. THAT needs some polishing!

I should have presented this proposal last sunday in the officers’ meeting, if there was a meeting, but our family had already scheduled a summer outing that day.

This is actually an idea of our association’s president. I’m too lazy to edit the code that Google Docs gave me so please don’t mind the format. You can view a much better proposal here.

Proposed Activity:

1. Palarong Pambata

  • Projected Date: May 9, 2010

  • General Mechanics:
a. There will be a registration fee.  The fee will range from 20 to 40 pesos.
b. Upon registration, the participant will draw a number.  This will be his/her team number.
c. There will be four teams.  Each team will have their own color.  Each participant will be given a ribbon corresponding to their team color.
d. The team should have a team leader.
e. There will be a Board of Everything.  The board will be composed by all the SJEIAA officers and batch representatives.  They cannot participate in any event.  Any decision made by the Board shall be deemed final and irrevocable.
f. All events will be in round robin style.
g. Each team should have their players ready five minutes after the first call for a game. Otherwise, they will be disqualified on that game, and the other team will be declared as the winner by default.  The team should also give list of the players to the board.
h. Each person can only play in two events.

That’s right! The past semester is my worst in all aspects of life, except for one (maybe). This post may be offensive(?) to others, so I’m warning you not to read this if you know me as a good person.

So what are my reasons for saying that it was my worst sem? See this list:

1. Lowest General Weighted Average (GWA)!! It may seem arrogant or “mahangin,” but my GWA, which I will not put here, is too low for my own standards. As usual, I’m pissed with myself because I know that I could have done better. But as we all know, “nasa huli ang pagsisisi.” :(

2. No Magna Cum Laude standing anymore. This is a reward for attaining the first thing in the list. Now, I just need to concentrate with my last two years to at least, graduate on time, not on time as in some time, but on time as scheduled. :(
