The author and the main administrator of this blog is Rico Jossel Maestro aka Rics, or as he prefers, Rix.  He is born on September of 1991 in Dubai, U.A.E.  He is a 4th year student in the University of the Philippines-Diliman taking a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.  He is a member of UP Kasimanwa, a semi-active member of the University of the Philippines Linux Users’ Group, and an officer of St. Jerome Emiliani Institute Alumni Association, and that’s not a UP-based organization, obviously.  He finished his grade school and high school at St. Jerome Emiliani Institute in Cavite.

He is a pure-blooded Romblomanon, but lives in Cavite since he and his family transferred in the Philippines in 1996 (I was born in Dubai, UAE).  He is a Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) advocate in his own little ways (got this sentence from most of my orgmates).  He started using a GNU/Linux operating system on 2008, and is encouraging his friends to do the same.  He is also into music.  Though not an expert, he knows how to play piano, guitar, flute and violin.  He dislikes songs with too much growling.  He prefers a capella, acoustic, ballad and RnB type of music.

This blog or site is not Rico’s first.  Actually, he has a blogger site that only contains an introductory post.  He never had the time to update it, or maybe, he’s just too lazy to write something.  At first, the name of this blog should be “Another Site of Rix.”  Creative as it may seem, he still changed it to the current name to give the readers and visitors, if any, some insights of what they can see or read in this site.  By the way, the name of this site, if you still don’t know (which is impossible and will make you stupid), is “Rants. Inspirations. Xiance?” with a tagline of “Another RIX site.”

Rants?  Yes, rants!  Do you still need an explanation?  If you need some, you better open a new tab and google the definition of the word ‘rant’ or you can search for it using your dictionary.  Same goes with ‘inspirations’.  But what the heck is Xiance?  Xiance stands for science, get it?  Rico always wanted to be a techy type of person, that’s why he pushed the abnormal ‘xiance’ word in his title.  And because of that, he will be posting some stuff about science or technology.  Yeah.  Though he’s still thinking if he would change it to ‘eXperience’.  But that will be too lame, right?

Rico admits that he is not that expert in using the English language, but it will be used as the main language in this site.  In case that you’ve spotted a grammatical error, just comment it out in a GOOD way.
